Chinese advertisements are a thing of the past.
A new online ad service, China Advertising Network, has put the advertising on its website, giving users the option to post their own ads and receive them as a result.
The company said the new platform would allow advertisers to post videos, images and text that are not seen on traditional media channels.
“We’re proud to offer a free platform for China-focused advertisers to showcase their unique advertising ideas and create brand awareness and social engagement,” said Li Xiong, founder and CEO of China Advertising, in a statement.
“The new platform enables advertisers to create their own brand awareness, increase engagement and gain more visibility across China.”
Advertising in China can be notoriously hard to do, and there is no free way to get a piece of the action, but the platform is designed to help China advertisers find a way to do what they’re doing.
It has over 200,000 users across six Chinese cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, and Shenzhen.
For now, it only offers adverts from the top 25 brands listed on the site.
It is not yet clear if advertisers will be able to advertise directly to consumers in China.
It will be interesting to see how the new ad platform plays out over the next few years.
